Under the supervision of a Professional Staff member of Residence Life, tasks will and may include: handling confidential material, writing letters, taking messages, office organization, creating and distributing inter-office memos, writing material for various newsletters/publications, checking and distributing e-mail, creation/modification of documents, database entry and updating, and other administrative tasks. The position will also entail running errands on and off campus, assisting other University Housing officials, customer service, and special projects as requested. One position works extensively developing promotional materials for residence hall events. |

The successful applicant must be a registered student at the University of Oregon and remain a registered student throughout the period of employment. Undergraduate students must be registered for a minimum of 8 credit hours; graduate students must be registered for a minimum of 3 credit hours. All interested applicants are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be able to operate confidentially and possess the maturity and ability to work unsupervised. They must be flexible, communicate effectively, have excellent writing/editing skills, the capacity to adapt to a changing work environment, and the ability to work well with coworkers, residents and the general public. Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are required, and data entry is an important component of these positions. In addition, an academic one-year commitment is required in order to facilitate adequate job continuity.
Successful applicants will be required to present original documents verifying proof of citizenship and/or eligibility to work in the United States. Completion of Form I-9 is required. |

Student employees in this position may work between 7 to 15 hours/week during the academic year. Some positions start in September 2012 and others start Summer 2012.
Starting wages for these positions are $8.80 per hour during summer and $9.10 during fall. |
