Under the supervision of the Area Director of Family Housing and University Apartments, tasks will include: handling confidential material, creating and maintaining files for applicants and tenants, computer-based data entry, typing, filing, telephone answering, office organization, checking and distributing e-mail, the creation/modification of documents, delivering notices to tenants and posting informational flyers. The position will also entail running errands on and off campus, assisting other University Housing officials, helping with customer service at the front desk and special projects as requested. |

The successful applicant must:
- maintain registered UO college student status throughout the period of employment. Undergraduate students must be registered for a minimum of 8 credit hours. Graduate students must be registered for a minimum of 3 credit hours. Work-study students are encouraged to apply;
- must be available to work throughout the summer and during academic breaks;
- have a valid driver’s license.

Training will be provided, however, the successful applicant will possess:
- excellent people skills,
- keyboarding and telephone skills;
- the ability to organize work;
- the ability to employ creative problem-solving techniques;
- the capacity to adapt to an ever-changing work environment;
- work well with co-workers, residents of Family Housing & University

Hours: Student employees in this position must be able to work at least 12 hours per week and may be scheduled for up to 20 hours per week during the academic year. There is a possibility of increased hours during term breaks and throughout the summer given available student payroll budget. Available hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A one-year commitment is required in order to facilitate adequate job training and continuity. |
