Graduate Village Check-in Information

0 Entrances 0
  • There are three entrances, one on the street side, one on the courtyard side, and one at the end of the building.
0 Keys 0
  • You will be issued three keys.
  • One for entrance door and bike cage
  • One for individual apartment
  • One for mailbox
0 Lost Keys/Lock-outs 0
  • If you lose your keys, or you are locked out, contact the Walton Housing Office on the corner of 15th Avenue and Agate Street, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. After hours, contact your Community Assistant at numerical pager (541) 341-4211 or cell phone (541) 912-1435. A staff member will meet you at your building entrance and let you in.
  • If either the main entrance key or your apartment key is not recovered, there will be a $40 charge for each lock change. You may request a new key on the next business day at the Walton Housing Office.
  • The charge for a mailbox lock change is $25.
0 Mailboxes 0
  • You will be assigned a mailbox and a mailbox key upon return of your "Unit Condition Report." Outgoing letter boxes are on site.
  • The box numbers are not relational to the apartment numbers. Each building has three communal mailboxes, labeled M1, M2, M3 for the Moss Street building, and V1, V2, V3 for the Villard building. You will be assigned an individual box in one of those larger units.
  • You may make copies of your mailbox key but not entrance or apartment door keys.
  • Packages that are not delivered by the US Postal Service, or packages that are too big to fit in the mailboxes, will be delivered to the Hamilton Area Desk located in the Hamilton Complex on the corner of Agate Street and 13th Avenue, (541) 346-5266.

  • Rent is due at the first of every month. Payments can be made at the Cashier's Office on the first floor of Oregon Hall.
0 Renter's Insurance 0
  • We recommend that you obtain renter's insurance to safeguard your personal property and liability.
0 Waste and Recycling 0
  • Waste and recycling bins are located beside the bike cages and service is included in rent.
0 Eugene Water and Electric Board-EWEB 0
  • You are responsible for your electricity use.
  • University Housing provides hot water.
  • You must contact EWEB at (541) 484-6016 to set up your account within 24 hours of your check-in. There may be fees required at the time the service is set-up.
  • If your EWEB account is not fully transferred into your name within three days of your check in, your student account will be charged for EWEB billing.

  • University Housing provides a phone line and phone number.
  • There is no hook-up fee or monthly charge.
  • You must contact UO Telecom at (541) 346-1023 to obtain a long distance code and to order any special features. These special features incur extra charges.
  • You must dial "9" before dialing any number that is not a University of Oregon phone number.
  • University Housing does not provide a telephone.
  • When you vacate, you must contact UO Telecom to cancel any special features you have ordered.
0 Cable 0
  • Cable TV hook ups are provided in your apartment, but you must contact Comcast for television service at (541) 221-8715.
  • All satellite dish systems are prohibited.
0 Internet 0
  • Your computer requires an Ethernet card to use the Internet connection.
  • If you have questions on setting up your computer, please contact ResNet at 346-4223. They are located in the Walton Complex near the corner of 15th Avenue and Agate Street.
  • If your computer requires service, there is no service charge for a ResNet representative to come to your apartment, or for you to bring your computer to their office.
  • The newest Duckware CD is available in the ResNet Office located in the Walton Complex.
0 Parking 0
  • There are 54 permit spaces at Graduate Village.
  • You must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety.
  • Parking permits are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Bicycles must be registered with Department of Public Safety and display registration sticker.
0 Laundry Facilities 0
  • Washers and dryers are located on the bottom floor of each building.
  • Machines are available 24 hours per day.
  • Machines cost 75¢ to wash, 75¢ to dry.
  • You will need a "WEB" access card to operate the laundry machines. You receive one during check-in, or you may purchase a new card from the the "Add Value" stations located in the Carson Lobby and the Hamilton Commons. Replacement cards cost five dollars and come with a pre-loaded value of three dollars. You can add value to your laundry card in five or ten dollar increments.
    There are no refunds for misplaced or lost cards and no refunds for any cash value left on you laundry card at the time of check out.
0 Fire Suppression Sprinklers 0
  • DO NOT TAMPER with the fire suppression sprinklers because they might go off. Do not hang anything from them or disturb them in any way.
  • All halogen lamps, halogen light bulbs, candles, and incense are prohibited.
  • Graduate Village is a smoke-free zone; all smoking inside the buildings and within twenty-five feet of any building is prohibited.
0 Call Box 0
  • The call box is on the courtyard side of the building.
  • It is a campus phone only.
  • If you are locked out, you may contact the Department of Public Safety at 6-5444. During business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday) the key is available at Walton Housing Office 346-4277.
0 Concerns and Maintenance Requests 0
  • For routine maintenance and repairs, call (541) 346-8584. You will need to provide the date, your complete address, the area where repair or service is needed, and a description of the problem.
  • For emergency repairs (those involving the immediate danger to people or property) call (541) 346-5263 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On evenings or weekends page (541) 341-4211.
  • For concerns dealing with social or neighbor-to-neighbor issues, contact the Spencer View/East Campus Area Director at (541) 346-5263.
0 Community Assistants 0
  • Community Assistants are students who live in Family Housing and University Apartments. Community Assistants are available in emergency situations when housing administration offices are closed. To contact a Community Assistant after hours, on weekends, or on holidays, please call the numeric pager at (541) 341-4211 or by cell phone at (541) 912-1435.
0 Vacating 0
  • Please submit a written vacate form at least two weeks prior to vacating, our vacate notices are available in the main housing office. Upon receipt of your vacate notice, you will be sent check-out instructions.
  • If your contract year was not fulfilled, you will be charged $9 per day for the remainder of the contract year.
  • The contract year is from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008 (or the remainder of the year through June 30, 2008 should check-in take place after July 1). Residents may only be released from the contract for one of the reasons listed in the contract. Graduate Village residents agree to pay rent through June 30, 2008 when they sign the rental contract.
