World Harmony - Music and Instruments from Around the Globe
Museum of Natural & Cultural History, Galleria Is music a universal language? What is an instrument? What is considered beautiful music? Join us for an evening of original musical performance and panel discussion with with Nick Sixkiller (Native American powwow drum); Mitsuki Dazai (Japanese koto); Eliot Grasso (Irish uilleann bagpipes); and Jennifer Kyker (Zimbabwean mbira). Dr. Mark Levy, Professor of Ethnomusicology and Guest Curator for the “World Harmony]Musical Instruments from Around the Globe” exhibit, will introduce the artists. Students are welcome to explore the museum exhibits that open at 6:00pm.
