It is possible to return to the same room for a second year. Your community may change depending on the number of new and/or returning students in your hall and which building the community is assigned.

Why do returning residents get priority?
Returning residents get priority because we want you to have your first choice. We are dedicated to ensuring that your next year living in the residence halls is just as great as—if not better than—your first.
Will Barnhart be all sophomores?
University Housing aspires to develop a community of sophomores, juniors, seniors and transfer students called the Sophomore Experience in Barnhart. Depending on the number of returning residents we hope to make this entire building all for sophomores and upper-division students. There is a chance we may allow first-year students to live in Barnhart but we will do our best to consolidate by floor.
