Application and Rate Information

When will I be able to log in to fill out my re-apply application?

The application is available beginning January 11, 2016.

How much does it cost to live in the residence halls?

Please see the rates page for an estimate for the 2016–17 academic year. We anticipate rates will change from year to year.

Is there a prepayment or application fee involved with my applications?

Yes, there is a $350 prepayment that will be required when you confirm your room. Your prepayment is applied towards your total room and board. There is no application fee for returning residents.

How can I make my payment to complete my re-application?

You will be able to make your payment online in the re-application process with Visa or MasterCard. If you would like to pay by check please visit the University Housing office in Walton Hall. Payment should be received no later than five business days after your confirmation to guarantee your space.

Rooming Options

Will I be able to review the profile(s) for my potential roommate(s)?

Yes, if your potential roommate(s) made the information public we will share it with you while you are filling out the application.

Are there single rooms available?

Yes, depending on what is available at the time you apply.

What is the Gender-inclusive Hall?

University Housing is committed to providing a community without limiting housing spaces by gender or sex. Residents of the hall can choose to room with a student of any gender. Visit the CommunityPLUS Housing Options page for more information.

If I keep the same room will the community around me change?

It is possible to return to the same room for a second year. Your community may change depending on the number of new and/or returning students in your hall and which building the community is assigned.

Are there ADA accessible rooms offered?

Yes, you should contact University Housing at housing@uoregon.edu or by phone at 541-346-4277 so we can make sure we are meeting your needs.

Returning Residents

Why do returning residents get priority?

Returning residents get priority because we want you to have your first choice. We are dedicated to ensuring that your next year living in the residence halls is just as great as—if not better than—your first.

Will Barnhart be all sophomores?

University Housing aspires to develop a community of sophomores called the Sophomore Experience in Barnhart. Depending on the number of returning residents we hope to make this entire building all for sophomores and upper-division students. There is a chance we may allow first-year students to live in Barnhart but we will do our best to consolidate by floor.

What are the details about the Summer Storage space?

When you re-apply for 2016-17, pay your prepayment, and sign your contract, you can sign up for 20 cubic feet of summer storage in one of our residence halls. You will be notified about the location in the first week in June 2016. If you should re-apply and later cancel your contract, you will be responsible for full payment of the storage space you used as well as any contract obligations. Please visit the summer storage page for a complete list of policies, procedures, and information. Please Note: the included storage is limited and only available for the first 250 students who select the storage on their re-application.

What dining plan can I choose?

You may choose any residential meal plan offered by University Housing.
