Buses and Bikes

Students are encouraged to leave their cars at home. Biking, walking, and riding the buses to most places are preferred methods of transportation. Bike racks are liberally spread around campus. You'll have easy access to bike lanes and bike trails to almost any shopping or recreation area. As a UO student, you may ride city buses, including the new EmX, free of charge by showing your UO identification card. EmX runs to the downtown Eugene Station from two campus locations every ten minutes throughout the weekday and every twenty minutes weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

As on most campuses across the nation, bicycle theft is not uncommon. We suggest you bring a used or inexpensive bike, along with a sturdy lock. Be sure to register your bike with the Department of Public Safety upon arrival on campus in order to help deter bike thieves, and make sure you write down the serial number of your valuables so they can be easily identified and returned if stolen.

Lane Transit District

The Lane Transit District (LTD) is the local bus system. Their website gives you schedules, maps, and timetables. All LTD buses are now equipped with bike racks. For route and schedule information call (541) 687-5555, (800) 735-2900, or visit www.ltd.org.

OmniShuttle

The concept behind OmniShuttle is to provide a safe, comfortable, and timely ride from any location in the Eugene/Springfield area, to the airport or from the airport. For more information call (541) 461-7959, (800) 741-5097, or visit www.omnishuttle.com/.
