Contract Prepayment
Within a week after you select your room, we will mail a contract packet to your campus address. You will then need to complete the following steps to secure the room:
- Read all the materials and make note of the important dates and deadlines.
- Return the signed contract and the $250 prepayment or a deferment request form by June 12, 2009.
- Recognize that by returning your signed contract and the $250 prepayment you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the contract, and agreeing to live in the residence halls for the entire 2009-10 academic year. The only exceptions made are for academic reasons (i.e. withdrawal from the University of Oregon, participation in a study abroad program, etc.).
- All specific room assignments and roommate requests are contingent upon the return of your signed contract and $250 prepayment of room and board (or deferment request) by June 12, 2009. Failure to return these items by June 12, 2009 will result in loss of your room assignment and roommate request.
To be eligible for a deferment of the $250 prepayment, you must have either applied for or been awarded financial aid for the 2009-10 school year, or have been awarded a state or federal scholarship that pays your room and board. Requesting a deferment will obligate you to pay the $250 even if you choose not to attend the UO or live in the halls next year. Deferment requests are due by June 12. Deferred prepayments are due October 1, 2009. A deferment request form is included in you contract packet mailed to you within two weeks of selecting a room.
Summer StorageResidents who have signed a contract or intend to sign one for the coming school year also have the option of storing their items here at the university. This can save some time hauling stuff back and forth over the summer break. Find out more information...
