CommunityPLUS Housing Options
CommunityPLUS options are designed for students that want a typical college experience but might prefer something extra to feel confident and successful in their home. Below are some community options you might be interested in.
Collegiate Halls are communities for students seeking an introduction to academic life at the University of Oregon. Collegiate Halls support each student’s academic exploration by hosting Faculty Fellows, professors who serve as general mentors to students in the residence halls. Faculty Fellows meet with students of all majors individually and in small groups; they assist in the areas of major selection and course registration, study abroad, undergraduate research, study strategies, academic scholarships, and more. They facilitate community events and programs to get students involved, too. Fostering relationships with faculty outside class benefits students throughout their academic career at Oregon and beyond. You can sign up for this community by indicating this preference on the University Housing Application “CommunityPLUS” section.
Gender Inclusive Housing
This community is meant for students who want to live with others who are committed to gender inclusion and equity. Only residents in this community can choose to share a room with a student of any gender identity or biological sex. This community is created for students who do not wish to live in a hall that aligns with a binary view (male/female) of gender identities or who may not feel comfortable in a traditionally gendered environment. Residents who choose this community will have varied understandings of gender, gender identity and gender expression, and Allies are welcome. You can sign up for this community by indicating this preference on the University Housing application in the “CommunityPLUS” section. Please call or e-mail us if you have questions and we will be happy to discuss further details.
Quiet Hall Housing
Living in the quiet hall is a community with established commitment to low levels of noise at all hours of the day. Whether you are a book lover who likes to study or take naps at any time of the day, we recognize some students need a quiet environment to truly thrive.
