You're sure to have a great experience living on campus if you interact with the community, put yourself out there, and get involved!
It’s easy to link up with people who share your interests and find out about what’s coming up on campus. From sunny day events on Humpy Lumpy Lawn to Hall Government meetings, there’s always a chance to connect.
There are tons of student leadership opportunities like the Residence Hall Association and Hall Government, and you can get a job with Residence Life and become a Resident Assistant (RA). Your RA is a student (like you!) who is highly trained and has loads of experience navigating campus. Connect with them about anything from classes to interests to ideas you have for the community! Living right in your hall, they really care about your academic and social success at the UO and will meet with you one-on-one a couple of times each term to make sure you are getting the most from your time here.
If less formal things are your style, you can work with the student staff member on your floor to plan anything you want, like a visit to the Eugene Saturday Market or a hike up Spencer Butte. Planned events for your community are often listed on the calendar.uoregon.edu website and on posters throughout your hall.
