What is the Global Engagement community?
The Global Engagement community offers an active, hands-on learning and research environment where you engage with diverse cultures, languages, histories, and lifeways across the world. Our interdisciplinary paths of study open doors to real-world careers in areas such as migration and refugee studies, food studies, global health, world cinema, digital media, gender and economic development, and cultural aesthetics. Through innovative language learning, collaborative research, and abundant opportunities beyond the classroom, we explore global issues from multiple perspectives and prepare you to thrive in an interconnected world.
Why should I choose to live in this community?
Whether your interests lie in business, political science, global studies, journalism, language, linguistics, or another field, the Global Engagement ARC helps you create a complete academic, social, and cultural experience while mapping out your future academic and career path. Enthusiasm and curiosity are the only requirements. Our community offers holistic advising and connects you with faculty and staff for unique research opportunities. You’ll have the chance to present your work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium, receive guidance on applying for scholarships and internships, and plan for study abroad experiences.
The Global Engagement ARC also provides a $2,000 housing stipend for eligible students. To be considered, you must declare a major within the Schnitzer School of Global Studies and Languages.
