Connecting Smart TVs

Cable television is available in lounges in the residence halls. In student rooms wifi internet is available, allowing students to accesss to streaming television. Smart TVs can be configured for use on our network in two ways: wired (preferred) and wirelessly.

Wired and Wirelessly

Smart TVs can possibly be configured to the networks ‘UO Secure’ and ‘UO Wireless’ if they have the protocols to allow username input.

UO Secure: Connect to UO Secure via the wireless network list on your TV. If there is no option to enter a username, the smart TV was not programmed to meet the networks security standards.

If your TV has an Ethernet port, it can be registered manually via device registration. If you are unsure what type of connection your TV has, please refer to your owner’s manual.
