Checking In

Students check into University of Oregon residence halls

Checking In

Check your assignment email for your assigned check-in time and specific location. You will need your UO ID to check in and all students must check themselves in and sign for their own keys. You will leave your belongings in your vehicle until you have your keys to move in.

While you are at your check-in location we will provide information about unloading and volunteers who are available throughout the day to assist folks with moving belongings to their room. We want your move-in experience to be as smooth and easy as possible. If you see a volunteer that day, please ask for assistance as needed. Even the Duck likes to come around and help welcome you.

Parking and Unloading

Please use street parking and metered spots to unload and move in. Hand carts are available at your service center. If you plan to be parking a vehicle on campus during the year, please visit Transportation Services to purchase your permit.

Early and Late Arrival Check-In

Early Arrival Move-In

Early arrival check-in is for students who are required to be on campus early for academic reasons. Some exceptions may be made for students who need to move in early for personal reasons. To move in early, complete the Early Move-In Request form on My Housing after you receive your room assignment email. Requests are not guaranteed and if approved, will incur an additional charge based on the daily room rate ($52–100 per night). All early arrival students, including international students, Academic Residential Community members and Clark Honors College students are required to fill out an Early Move-In Request form.

Late Move-In

If you will be arriving after September 27, you are considered a late arrival. You will need to complete and submit a Change in Arrival form on My Housing to prevent your assigned space from being canceled. If your plans change, please notify University Housing as soon as possible.
