Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of conduct are handled by University Housing?
University Housing addresses violations of the Housing Contract, the Residence Hall Community Standards, and some University Conduct Code violations. Housing’s jurisdiction is restricted to students living in the residence halls, including those who are incoming first-year students staying for IntroDUCKtion, as well as following-up with outgoing students no longer living on campus.

Is this the same as the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards in the Dean of Students’ Office?
University Housing is a separate office from the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards. Housing is deputized by Student Conduct to address certain types of misconduct related to the Housing Contract and Community Standards, while Student Conduct addresses University Conduct Code allegations. Some types of misconduct in the residence halls are escalated to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, while housing may provide support and follow-up.
