You can't get any closer to the heart of campus than Carson Hall. With five stories and a central location, Carson residents enjoy great views, large windows, and a short walk to anywhere on campus. Carson has multi-gendered floors with single-gendered wings, great study nooks, and large community lounge spaces for events. It is also home to the Multicultural Scholars and the LGBTQIA+ Scholars Academic Residential Communities.
Adjacent to the LGBTQIA+ hall is the Gender Equity Hall, housing students who do not wish to conform to the gender binary of male or female. Residents in this community can choose to share a room with a student of any gender identity or biological sex. The Gender Equity Hall does not have the shared course work or academic components of an Academic Residential Community. The Community for Multicultural Scholars is an opportunity for students to share their diverse identities, cultures, and experiences while living and learning together. Students in this community live with others who embrace inclusiveness and seek empowerment.
Academic Support in Carson Hall
Carson Hall is home to peer advising in the residence halls. Peer advisors are undergraduate students who are highly trained in academic advising. You can drop in at the peer advising table that is set up outside Carson Dining at different times throughout the year to ask questions about class schedules, when to drop or withdraw from a class, how to plan to study abroad, how to graduate on time, and more.
