Internet Setup

The University of Oregon provides both wireless and wired internet for University Housing residents. Most devices such as phones and computers can connect to the wireless network UO Secure. All other devices must be registered on our website, and either connect to the wireless network ResNet IOT, or by an Ethernet cable.

Connecting to UO Secure

Students should use the campus-wide UO Secure wireless network. Log in to this network with your Duck ID and password. If needed the Duck ID password can be reset.

  1. Select the “UO Secure” network from the list of wireless networks on your device.
  2. Enter your Duck ID and password (associated with your UO email address).
  3. Click “OK” to any prompts.
  4. Once connected, you should not have to log in again until your password changes.

Connecting to ResNet IOT

Any device plugged in to Ethernet or connected wirelessly to ResNet IOT must be registered by MAC addresses. Registration lets us know who is responsible for a device. This allows us to notify the owner if an issue arises, such as a malware infection. Notification is often by email and/or network quarantine.

ResNet has Ethernet cables and adapters available for purchase if needed.
